Diquat Dibromide Herbicide - Kills Weeds

Alligare's Diquat dibromide 37.3%, which can be compared to the more expensive Reward Herbicide, has various applications for controlling algae, aquatic weeds, and submerged weeds in water, as well as weeds along shorelines. To achieve the best results, Diquat can be sprayed directly onto existing plants as a surface spray or applied under water using a spray nozzle. However, it's important to note that the effectiveness of Diquat may be reduced if the weeds are covered in scale, silt, or algae, or if there's insufficient penetration of light into the water, as these factors may stress the weeds.

For optimal control, it's recommended to target young, actively growing weeds that are free from stress. Weeds that are 1-6 inches in height are the easiest to control. The mode of action for Diquat involves interfering with the plant's photosynthesis process after it is taken up by the plant cells. Diquat dibromide is quickly absorbed by the weed and becomes rainfast within 30 minutes. Emersed and floating weeds typically take 1-5 days to die, while submersed weeds may take 2-3 weeks.
